02/07/07: Matt Reid and the other artists from Studio 19 are now featuring in the July/August issue of Home Plus Scotland. There is a full page spread entitled 'Hanging Together' and it focuses on how Studio 19 artists work as a collegiate to achieve their artistic goals.

Welcome to my website. I am Matt Reid an artist local to Glasgow and Ayrshire. This website is dedicated to my original, contemporary and mixed media ranges that are inspired by the beautiful countryside of Ayrshire and the great city of Glasgow.
My art is inspired by the two great influences in my life - the rich countryside of Ayrshire and the cosmopolitan city of Glasgow. All my pieces are inspired by the local ambience of where I live and incorporate the themes and materials from local areas. My 'Bark' series incorporates the materials of Ayrshire nature itself; inspired by the effects of lights on the leaves, trees of the countryside and the earthy tones of the landscape and sky. My 'Wax' series concentrates on the ephemeral ever changing nature of the city, its multi-layered perspectives and things easily missed.
Please feel free to browse examples of my work. Clients often ask if it’s possible to change the colour of compositions that they enjoy. Of course it is! Art always looks much better if it doesn't clash with the surroundings in which is displayed. Whilst the majority of my pieces are spontaneous examples of my thoughts on canvas, I am always happy to adapt my pieces on demand.
